The first thing I needed to consider when it came to my images was the actual objects I wished to depict therefore I decided to go and around local areas and see what I could find. I decided I would come up with a theme/ aesthetic to narrow down the objects I could use as I felt it might be easier to find objects within a certain limit. I decided to use the theme of nature as in objects I had found in a place of nature or objects that came from nature itself such as flowers or from animals. The first object I found was and empty bottle that had been left on the ground in a local rape seed field. It had obviously been there for some time due to the mud and various other marks on it and it looked quite weathered therefore I picked it up and took it with me. I then went home for a weeks for personal reasons and I live around many fields with abandoned buildings. In one of my local abandoned buildings I found a simple block of wood and I began to think about what it was actually used for. I decided I wished to used this item in my photos as well. The last object I decided to use was borrowed from my brother. It was a fossil in a rock that he found on holiday in Spain. I wanted to use this item in my photos as I thought it was quite an interesting object to look at it compared with the other objects I already had.
When putting the images in order I wanted to have the almost flowing with their different heights, therefore I chose to put the bottle in the first window of my Triptych. It may have been a better idea to put the bottle in the middle and have the two darker objects in the outside windows, however because I wanted to create a wave like effect, of moving down and them up I put the bottle on the outside. I then put the larger block of wood in the middle, I chose the picture that best showed the natural marks in the block. for the last window I put the fossil as it would continue the flow effect I wanted to give. I chose a burgundy background for the actual triptych as I felt it contrasted well with the white background of the actual images. As you can see the background was a white sheet with creases in it, I thought the crease would add more feel to the picture however while reviewing the pictures as I am writing this, I wish I would have used a flat or smooth background because I feel that the creases take away from the actual image and you begin to focus on them more than the actual objects. In future I will consider backgrounds more when creating compositions. I would say that these images are not my best and I could have showcased my skills a lot more, however since I cannot change them at this point I will just have to work harder in my other briefs to show that I do have skills in photography and that maybe found objects was not the brief that would showcase my talents.
